WHAT WE DO
The CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE OF CANADA
activities touch every aspect of our lives.
SPIRITUAL
Through our parish communities we are involved in deepening our spiritual Church life and spreading the GOOD NEWS through sharing our gifts and talents.
EDUCATION
We become involved in promoting Catholic religious education. We are concerned about literacy and the need to be involved in providing scholarships and bursaries for students as they prepare themselves for the future.
CHRISTIAN FAMILY LIFE
Our members participate in programs promoting life from conception to death. We minister to single parents, to youth, and to seniors. We work to promote vocations to Church ministries.
COMMUNITY LIFE
In our local communities LEAGUE members are aware of and assist those in need through local food drives, the St. Vincent de Paul, Women’s and Youth Shelters. Through Development and Peace we are women helping women in the Third World.
RESOLUTIONS/LEGISLATION
On the National level, the CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE OF CANADA present briefs to the federal government regarding concerns of each Canadian through resolutions originating in the parish council.
COMMUNICATIONS
We keep aware of and address TV, videos and pornography concerns (i.e. Children’s programming, TV violence, etc.). Our members are deeply involved in the WRAP (White Ribbons Against Pornography) campaign.
The CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE OF CANADA continues to be involved with many issues regarding environment, safety, health, euthanasia, youth violence, abuse and many family related issues.
